Decoding Cancer: Getting Under the Skin - Modern Melanoma Treatments

Melanoma is a potentially serious type of skin cancer that often occurs in young and middle aged adults. It is one of the most common cancers in Ireland with approximately 1,000 cases in Ireland each year. The number of cases and associated deaths from this form of cancer have unfortunately been increasing in Ireland over the last 20 years.

If melanoma is diagnosed early enough, it is often cured through surgery alone. However, treatment is much more challenging where the disease has already spread.
