How to plan your Cups Against Breast Cancer work event

Register

Once you register, you will receive an email with a link to fundraising material.

Choose a day

You can hold your event anytime in October. We suggest doing it on a Friday or a day when most of your colleagues are in the office.

Choose a Cups Against Breast Cancer event

Below are a few Cups Against Breast Cancer fundraising ideas you and your colleagues can do to help raise vital funds!

  • Pink Bake Off and Cake Sale – Hold a Pink-themed bake off or ask a colleague to bring in yummy pink treats.
  • Wear Pink – Pink Pyjama Day! – Ask everyone to wear something Pink and make a donation.
  • The Big Pink Raffle – Raffle off an annual leave day, a coveted parking spot, or a free lunch for their team. The more valuable the prize, the more money you’ll raise.
  • Pink Treat Day – Organise treats in your office for your colleagues such as a pop-up nail bar, mini massages, yoga class etc.
  • Pink Themed Halloween Event – Dress up as characters or personalities known for wearing or being Pink (e.g. Pink Panther, Miss Piggy, Pink Floyd, a marshmallow or a Pink Crayon).
  • Donate a Percentage of Sales – Bring in a pink product and sell it.
  • Cupathon – bring in your favourite mug or have a design your own mug competition.
  • Business Neighbours Coffee Morning – Invite your business neighbours and other neighbours on your street to a coffee morning

Communicate and Promote

Tell EVERYONE at work about your Cups Against Breast Cancer event, if they don’t know, they can’t donate! Set up a company WhatsApp group, use your company’s Facebook page, Twitter page, Instagram or simply hang your poster in the canteen to help get your event out there.

  • Start early – The earlier you begin, the more colleagues you can reach and the easier your fundraising will be. Send a save the date invite and maybe book the time of the event in your colleague’s calendar so they don’t forget.
  • Remind – Don’t forget to remind everyone a few days before the event and emphasise the importance of their support and donations to the work of the Irish Cancer Society.
    • Cashless Company – If you are a cashless organisation, send a gentle reminder to everyone a few days before the event to bring in cash on the day.

Thank everyone

Remember to thank everyone for supporting the event and tell them no matter how small their donation, it will make a difference to people affected by breast cancer.
