Irish Prostate Cancer Outcomes Research 2013 (Closed)

This call is now closed.
The Irish Cancer Society, in collaboration with Movember, seeks to improve health outcomes for men living with prostate cancer, together with their partners, carers and families.
We plan to fund the establishment of a programme of Irish Prostate Cancer Outcomes Research (referred to in this document as IPCOR) to:
Monitor, benchmark and publicly report annually on the outcomes of prostate cancer treatment and care.
Provide risk adjusted, evidence based data to clinicians, hospitals and decision makers on prostate cancer clinical practice that fosters and evaluates improved quality of treatment and care for men diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Foster research leading to improvement in care and survival; ideally enabling comparisons across countries.
The Irish Cancer Society recognises and acknowledges the excellent National Cancer Registry in Ireland (NCRI) that records all cases of prostate cancer in Ireland, in both public and private hospitals. The Irish Cancer Society would expect that IPCOR would build on this registry. It is also expected that IPCOR will be Clinician-led and would engage all Clinicians treating men with prostate cancer in Ireland.
