Based in Dublin, with opportunities for part-time remote working

* Note:  There will be a mix of office and remote based working for this role over the coming months as we return to more regular working arrangements following temporary arrangements that were in place due to Covid 19 restrictions

We’re looking for a Digital Engagement Coordinator to join our team. As Digital Engagement Coordinator you will create and maintain content, create compelling social content and maintain our vibrant online community of people affected by cancer and our supporters.

What you’ll do

You will play a key role in maintaining the online presence of the Irish Cancer Society including our website and our social media channels. You will create content, including video content, to support all aspects of the organisation from cancer information to fundraising and research. You will maintain a vibrant social community by engaging with our followers, coming up with new content ideas and maintaining an engaging editorial calendar.

Social media

  • You will play an active role in the creation and deployment of the editorial calendar for the Irish Cancer Society’s social channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked In and You Tube.
  • You will work to foster a sense of community across the Society’s social media channels, and take a proactive approach to moderation and engagement.
  • You will work to inform the Society’s social media strategy by using all relevant reporting and analytics tools to ensure that we are engaging our audiences in the most effective way.
  • You will pay close attention to emerging social trends and identify opportunities for the Society to expand our reach.

Website and marketing

  • Assist in the maintenance of using Drupal CMS including content creation, editing and review.  
  • Monitoring and optimisation of website content for SEO; Website analytics and reporting.
  • Working with internal stakeholders and Digital Engagement Team on continuous website development and improvements taking a UX-centric approach.
  • Work with the wider Digital Engagement team to deliver best-in-class marketing campaigns
  • Create and deploy email marketing campaigns in ClickDimensions  

Content creation

  • You will work within and contribute to the ongoing development of our digital brand guidelines.
  • You will create engaging content across a range of subjects to support the needs of the wider organisation.
  • Creation and editing of digital media in Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Audition;
  • You will champion an audience-first approach internally and help to upskill and coach internal stakeholders and partners on digital best practise.
  • Ensure that an effective test and learn strategy is in place for all content creation, with effective use of analytics.  


  • You will work closely with the Data Protection Officer, as part of the Data Rep Working Group, bringing expertise from a digital perspective, ensuring ongoing data compliance across the team, and informing and implementing relevant processes across the communications department with a data privacy lens.

The role is a flexible one in a dynamic team and you may be required to perform additional duties as required.

  • You have an analytical and measured approach to digital output and understand the value of engagement with our audiences from services user to donors and fundraisers.
  • In-depth knowledge of GDPR and data privacy regulation

Your qualifications and experience

  • You will typically have two – three years experience in digital engagement and a proven track record in innovative and creative content creation.
  • Experience in social media management, ClickDimensions, the Adobe suite, Facebook creator studio and Google analytics is preferred.
