We bring the health education message into the community through our Community Health Education Programme (CHEP), a grassroots, volunteer-led programme. Find out what CHEP does and how you can get involved.
We aim to raise awareness throughout Ireland about what we all can do to reduce our risk of cancer (by 50%!) through a healthy lifestyle.
Volunteers for CHEP give information talks or man health information stands at local workplaces, community and sport organisations, women's and men's groups and local clubs and societies.
CHEP aims to increase the public's knowledge and encourage a change in their behaviour to reduce everyone's risk of cancer. The focus is on cancers whose cause we know, and therefore, in some cases, can be prevented. But we also focus on less well known cancers that are specific to women or men, like cervical and ovarian cancer, or prostate and testicular cancer.

We need volunteers to help spread the word about healthy living throughout the community. Learn how to volunteer.
