Movember

November marks the time for our annual moustache-growing charity event that raises funds and awareness for our Action Prostate Cancer programmes.

How you can join in

In 2010, over 12,700 Irish Mo Bros and Sistas got on board, raising €1.6 million for the Irish Cancer Society’s prostate cancer services. You can help too:

  • Register with Movember Ireland to grow a moustache for the month of November and raise money and awareness for prostate cancer.
  • Donate to an individual, a team or to the cause in general.

About prostate cancer in Ireland

  • The most recent data shows that there were 2,758 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in 2009 in Ireland.
  • One of eight men in Ireland has a chance of developing prostate cancer in their lifetime.
  • Early, curable prostate cancer often does not have symptoms. A simple blood test can be carried out by a GP to help identify which men need further investigations.
  • Eating a good diet and exercising regularly can reduce your risk of prostate cancer.
