Support Your Local Charity Friday 21st Feb to Sunday 2nd March

Support an ICSA member charity shop and you are supporting a legitimate charity that is delivering crucial services and support for communities nationwide.  From Friday 21st February, registered charity shops will be displaying Choose Charity Shops 1st signs in their shop windows. Please support these legitimate charities by dropping off your donations directly to a charity shop displaying these signs. To find an ICSA member charity shop near you, go to www.icsa.ie/shops. There you can choose the charity that you want to support, safe in the knowledge that it is a registered charity operating according to the voluntary ICSA Code of Charity Retailing, which is available on our website www.icsa.ie/code-of-charity-retailing.  At the launch of Choose Charity Shops 1st, Eamon Ryan, Green Party leader said, “Irish Charity Shops Association members do excellent work on a number of levels; they ensure that our unwanted goods are re-used, they provide an opportunity for people to buy at affordable prices and they raise funds to support people in need”. Paul Hughes, Chair and spokesperson for the Irish Charity Shops Association, said “The ICSA is delighted to have the support of the Green Party in helping us to promote this re-use and recycling event nationwide. Items that you no longer need will generate much needed funds for legitimate charities that are working hard to meet the needs of some of the most marginalised people in society”. If you want your donation to make a difference, please donate to a registered charity. They’re easy to spot; from Friday 21st February legitimate charity shops will have the Choose Charity Shops 1st logo in the window and you can be sure that what you donate will make a real difference in a deserving person’s life. For more information please contact info@icsa.ie or 085 8556819
