East Galway and Midlands Cancer Support centre to feature in TG4 documentary

The East Galway and Midlands Cancer Support Centre will be the central focus of a new TG4 documentary to be broadcast on Sunday 23 November at 9.30 pm.

Produced by Hawkeye Films, Dóchas don Lá Amárach- Hope for Tomorrow will examine the daily work of the cancer support centre which is affiliated to the Irish Cancer Society.

From a modest bungalow in Ballinasloe the East Galway and Midland Cancer Support Centre has established itself as an oasis of community healing and support, a place of laughter, empathy and consideration.

It`s range of services is there to ensure that cancer patients and survivors need not feel alone in facing their diagnosis and illness. In an atmosphere of hope, cups of tea and an army of volunteers, the clients have access to that most important of things when a person is sick – a place of comfort, understanding and kindness. This documentary takes an affectionate look at how the centre offers hope for cancer patients and survivors.
