We raised €17.5 million in 2010 (up half a million from 2009). We're delighted to have achieved modest growth in a very challenging economic climate.
Our very successful Shave or Dye campaign, the Tesco Charity of the Year and other fundraising campaigns helped us reach the incredible €17.5 million. These funds make a big difference in many people's lives.
The net result for 2010 was a surplus of €2.2 million.
Highlights of the year:
Nearly €600,000 went to help people to know the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer.
We spent €2.1 million supporting families with end of life care for their loved ones through our night nursing service.
€1.4 million was invested in eight cancer researchers and the provision of clinical trials.
We granted over €1.1 million providing financial assistance for patients who needed help paying for their diagnosis and treatment.
